Live Footage of bridge washed away by strong water current. This footage is from Nurpur Himachal Pradesh. This bridge was only link for many villages in Punjab, which is a problem for many people residing in those village.

Almost every year there is same problem, water level in almost all rivers of Himachal rises above the danger level. Most of the bridges were constructed long time back, as infrastructure in Himachal needs to be upgraded according to the rising traffic levels and population pressure.

Unfortunately there are many places in Himachal and some places in Punjab that have only single point connectivity and when such infrastructure collapsed , people have very hard time to get the basic amenities like food and other supplies from rest of the states of the country.

Some bridges were even constructed in the British rule, and are still being used , although they have declared not fit for use by the different agencies. Government should take care of its people because they are dangerous not only in rainy season but also during rest of the year.
