Punjab election commission has declared date for re-polling in some areas of Punjab. Election commission has received complaints regarding machines not working or facing problems on the day of polling that was on 4th of February 2017. Apart from EVM machine problems there were other complaint of unfair polling , so Election Commission has taken this strict decision.
There are around 12 booths in Majitha constituency , in Mukatsar constituency there are around 9 boths, 6 in Sangrur, 4 of Sardulgarh, one is in Moga and 16 booths of Amritsar by elections for MP will have re-polling on 9th of this month as per the Election Commission of Punjab.
Apart from machines there were complaints of violence in certain areas, so taking fair action, Election commission decided re-poll as better option. Other wise most of the booths and most of the areas in Punjab witnessed peaceful polling on the day, and there were very few incidents of violence compared to previous years of elections.
AAP has also complained to election commission about the incident where some people have reported to entered strong room where EVM machines were kept.
